BANGALORE: In its efforts to end the jinxed Arkavathy Layout impasse, the Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) is planning to hire a private consultant to prepare "an effective layout plan" to accommodate all the allottees, land owners and rev enue site holders within the available land.

After the recent board meeting, the BDA Commissioner Bharat Lal Meena said, "The Town Planning Department has been directed to prepare the layout plan by taking assistance from a private consultant, if necessary. We are confident of accommodating all the allottees after allotting sites to the land owners. The land owners have voluntarily come forward to give around 100 acres of land for the layout in return for 40 per cent of the developed land. We are confident that the others will follow suit, as we have held a series of talks with them."

According to official sources, the BDA commissioner has directed the land acquisition department to furnish the details of the land that is available with the BDA after excluding the denotified lands and that of the revenue site holders, who are eligible to get a site in accordance with the law.
