Son’s book on Rajkumar released

The third annual Dr Rajkumar Souharda Awards were given away at a programme on Saturday.

This time, the presitigious awards went to playback singer P B Srinivas, theatre artiste and a close friend of the Rajkumar family Ranganayaki and Chi Datturaj.

The award carries a purse of Rs 1 lakh and a memento. The awards were presented by Dr Rajkumar’s sons Shivarajkumar, Raghavenda and Puneeth along with their mother Parvathamma.

Srinivas had composed a song, specially for the occasion, which he sang at the event. “I am always grateful to the Rajkumar family for choosing me for this award. I am glad to have lent my voice to a legend. This will be a memorable day for me,” he said.  Ranganayaki became emotional as she went to receive the award. “Dr Rajkumar always treated me like his own sister,” she said. “It is an honour to have received this award and thanks to the family, which considers me one among them,” said Datturaj.

The most anticipated book ‘Dr Rajkumar: The Person Behind The Personality’, authored by his son Puneeth with the help of his friend, Prakruthi Banwasi was also released at the programme.
