Pizza delivery boy held for blackmailing women

Yeshwantpur police have arrested a 28-year-old pizza delivery boy on charges of seeking sexual favours from women after blackmailing them of posting their morphed pictures on Internet.

During interrogation, the accused has revealed that he had harassed over 10 women in this way.

The accused has been identified as Swamy alias Manish Pandey alias Sridhar alias Ram, a resident of Peenya second stage and a native of Channarayapatna in Hassan district.

He was working as a delivery boy at Pizza Hut in Peenya second stage.

The police said that the accused used to collect contact details from women while delivering the pizzas. “He was sending lewd text messages and harass women by calling them in different names. He was claiming that he had their pictures and threatened of morphing them and uploading to porn websites, if they did not co-operate  with him for a night. He was arrested following a complaint by a woman from Pizza Hut based on his mobile phone location,” the police explained.

The accused was allegedly using several SIM cards to harass women and confessed to harassing women in Peenya, Goraguntepalya and Yeshwantpur. The victims’ statements have also been recorded.

“In a case, he had threatened a woman similarly. She had called off her wedding fearing that he would spoil her future,” the police said.

“Earlier, he was arrested by K R Pet town police in connection with alleged circulation of counterfeit notes with his neighbour Kempe Gowda. He was in prison for seven months in this connection. Later, he was into farming before joining Pizza Hut. He has studied till VII standard. Earlier, he has worked at a hotel for five years in Mumbai,” the police informed.
