Attack on Dayananda Pai: 3 held

Three people have been arrested in connection with the alleged attempt to murder case of realtor P Dayananda Pai, police sources said.

All the three are said to be associates of rowdy Hebbet Manja. The accused are Subhash Shikari, 32, of Hubli, Santosh and Vignesh. Police have recovered pistols and a bike from the accused.

“Subhash shot at Pai’s car in Basavanagudi on October 16. Shikari was earlier arrested by Dharwad rural police under Arms Act in 2004. When he was in Dharwad jail, he had come in contact with Hebbet Manja, who was also in the same prison. Thereafter, he had joined Manja’s gang,” a police source said, adding Santosh, was a technical staff at a Kannada news channel. Vignesh was arrested in Mysore.
