Don’t arrest MLA till April 18: HC

The High Court on Tuesday directed the Lokayukta police not to arrest Yelahanka MLA S R Vishwanath (BJP) till April 18 in connection with a complaint pending before the Lokayukta Special Court.

The High Court on Tuesday directed the Lokayukta police not to arrest Yelahanka MLA S R Vishwanath (BJP) till April 18 in connection with a complaint pending before the Lokayukta Special Court. Justice Nagmohan Das passed the order on a petition filed by Vishwanath seeking anticipatory bail in illegal transfer of land case.

He had filed a petition before the court after the Lokayakta Special Court rejected anticipatory bail to him last week. It was alleged that Vishwanath was had illegal transfer of 32 acres and 4 guntas of government land, to a villager’s name and later the land purchased by his relatives.
