Advance booking for the ‘Fly Bus’ will be available from Sunday. The Fly Bus, an initiative to ease travel for those commuting from BIA to Mysore and vice- versa, will begin operations in the city from August 14.

The KSRTC signed an MoU with the Bangalore International Airport to operate buses between the airport and Mysore.

The luxury buses will have a chemical toilet and pantry facilities. The travel fare has been fixed at `1000, including snacks. The bus will travel non-stop to Mysore via Yelahanka, Jalahalli, NICE Road, Kengeri and Mysore. Discounts on the fare will be offered for group bookings as well.

KSRTC managing director Manjunath Prasad said the Fly Bus services will ease travel for anyone wanting to travel between the airport and Mysore. “A taxi usually costs `3,000-`4,000. This cost can be reduced by using the Fly Bus. Moreover, those using public transport will no longer have to change buses as a direct service will be available,” he said.

In the next few months, similar services to Tirupati, Mangalore, Udupi and Coimbatore will be introduced as well.

The buses will be a light brownish-gold colour. A separate departure point will be provided at the airport and at the Mysore mofussil bus stop for those availing the Fly Bus facilities, he added.
