Two injured in roof collapse

A 20-year-old woman and her five-month-old son sustained injuries after the asbestos sheet of their single room house in Peenya Stage II came crashing down.

A 20-year-old woman and her five-month-old son sustained injuries after the asbestos sheet of their single room house in Peenya Stage II came crashing down.

Seema Mohommad (20) and her son Mohammad Khalil were treated at a local hospital and later shifted to NIMHANS. Seema sustained head injuries and her son had some minor injuries. Doctors said they are out of danger.

Venkatesh, a resident of Peenya Stage II, was constructing a three-storey building. Zeesha, a welder, his wife Seema and their son were living in an adjacent building. On Thursday, around 3 pm, a portion of the second floor of the under-construction building collapsed on the shed where Seema and Khalil were staying.

Man stabbed to death

A 30-year-old man was brutally murdered by his brothers-in-law over a family dispute. The deceased Sagar was a resident of Gandhipura near Whitefield. His wife Anitha and brothers-in-law Suman and Roshan, who have been named accused, are absconding.

Sagar was married Anitha seven years ago. The couple was staying at a rented house and had no children. The brothers-in-law were staying separately in the same locality. On Thursday, when the couple was quarrelling, the brother duo stabbed Sagar.
