With the South-West Monsoon advancing into some parts of South-West and East- Central Bay of Bengal, Bangalore witnessed strong winds marked with low temperature on Monday.
“The wind speed was above normal and the clouds were not connective. This phenomenon reduces the chances of heavy rains. The temperature could hover around 32 degrees Celsius on Tuesday,” an Indian Meteorological Department official said.
The city may receive less than 5 mm of rain the in the next two days, he added.
As the watch for onset of South-West monsoon continues, heavy to very heavy rainfall has been reported in parts of Kerala and Coastal Karnataka.
Extreme hot weather continues in North Karnataka and the region has witnessed a rainfall deficit of 66 per cent in this month.
In Bidar and Belgaum districts, the deficit is as high as 75-80 percent.
According to officials, Harobelavadi village in Dharwad taluk received the maximum rainfall of 85.5 mm on Sunday. There were reports of widespread rains in Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Davangere districts.
