Preeti Rana enters Sandalwood with Vajrakaya

A Sharadhaa

BANGALORE: Having completed three Telugu films that are yet to hit the screen, Preeti Rana has bagged her first film in Kannada. The actress has been roped in for Vajrakaya directed by A Harsha, and she is paired with Shivarajkumar.

Preethi thanks C Manohar, the producer of the film, for helping her get the role. “Two months ago, I had come down to Bangalore and met Manohar. He had me in his mind since then and recommended me for Harsha’s film,” she says, adding, “I started off in Tollywood with Pargo Parugu, followed by Ramgopal Varma’s 12 with Manchu Vishu and Gaalipatam. I have completed my portions in all the films and I am looking forward to their release. Meanwhile, I’m all set for my journey in Kannada with Vajrakaya.”

The actress admits that she is thrilled to be working with Shivarajkumar. “It is a privilege and I feel honoured to be working with a star who has contributed so much to the Kannada industry. I have heard a lot of good things about him and I am looking forward to work with and learn from him on the sets,” she says.

Preeti will be visiting Bangalore before she starts shooting from the first week of August. “I will be coming down for my costume trial and will be soon joining the sets of Vajrakaya,” says this model-turned-actress, who comes from a defence background.  “I am fresh out of the Telugu industry and already part of Sandalwood. Although it is a cliche, I would say that acting was my dream and I wish to work in different languages. I am also enjoying doing commercials,” she concludes.
