Over 17 Schools Participate in JJ Trophy Badminton Tournament

CHENNAI: Thangamani Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Pattabiram run by Thangamani Educational and Charitable Trust conducted the J J Trophy Inter-school Badminton Tournament on October 31.

More than 17 schools from Pattabiram, Tirunindravur and Avadi participated in the tournament. The J J Trophy was given to overall champions Thangamani Mat Hr Sec School. 

In the boys’ category, the championship was bagged by Angel Matric Hr Sec School, Tirunindravur and in the girls’ category the championship was bagged by Amudha Matric Hr Sec School, Tirunindravur. 

Second place in both the categories went to the host school and the third place to Good Shepherd Matric Hr Sec School, Pattabiram in the boys’ category and to Sevalaya Hr Sec School, Pakkam in the girls’ category.

Jayakumar, general secretary, Consumer Council, Pattabiram, declared the games open. Entrepreneur Paul Sekhar, director of Graphic Enterprises, presided over the function and gave away prizes and trophy to the winners.

Jayachandran, convener of the programme, gave the vote of thanks.
