BENGALURU: Bengaluru-headquartered YatraGenie Services Pvt Ltd, a bus ticketing and cab booking platform, with revenues of `50 crore, plans to invest `50 crore for its expansion across Karnataka.
YatraGenie, currently available across 40 cities in South India, has now expanded its services to Hassan, Mangaluru, Manipal, Udupi and many other cities in Dakshina Kannada district.
Established in 2013 by Renil Komitla, YatraGenie provides a one-stop solution to customers looking for budget travel options.
As part of its expansion plans, YatraGenie will hire 500 cab drivers under the driver-cum-owner model launched by the company in association with Maruti Suzuki Pvt Ltd. The company will also hire 25 call centre executives to set up a YatraGenie call centre in Mangaluru.
Announcing its plans in Bengaluru, Renil Komitla, CEO, YatraGenie, said, “With this investment, we want to rapidly increase our presence across Karnataka. In the first phase, our focus is on Dakshina Kannada and Hassan regions. Continuing with our focus on providing good customer experience in the Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities, YatraGenie will expand across other regions in Karnataka.”
In the coming months, YatraGenie aims to launch its services in 17 district headquarters in Karnataka. By the end of 2015, it plans to expand to 100 cities, thus making it the fastest-growing company in the sector.
