Mohandas Pai, Kiran Mazumdar Shaw spar on Twitter over Neet spin-off

Two opinion leaders of corporate Bengaluru crossed swords over the National Entrance-cum-Eligibility Test (NEET) on Sunday.

BENGALURU: Two of the most prominent faces of corporate India had a face-off on Twitter on Sunday over the implementation of the National Entrance cum Eligibility Test (NEET). TV Mohandas Pai, former senior executive of Infosys and Kiran Mazumdar Shaw, Chairman of Biocon had a heated argument on the impact of a single window medical entrance exam.  While Pai vehemently opposed the introduction of NEET for the current academic year, Shaw described it as essential to weed out corruption in medical education.

“NEET will weed out corruption in medical education.”, Shaw tweeted on Sunday. Responding to the same, Pai, who is also the chairman of Manipal Global Education said: “Kiran not true. NEET based on CBSE syllabus, local language not used,discriminatory. Please understand these issues.” Soon, other people too were rushing to share their views regarding the dispute. As their numbers grew, Shaw stopped tweeting.
