BENGALURU: The vehicle used in the robbery that took place in Bengaluru’s busy Kempe Gowda road where the Logicash driver fled with Rs 1.37 crore on Wednesday was found abandoned in Vasanthnagar in the city.
The cops have recovered Rs 45 lakh and the gunman’s weapon from the vehicle.
The driver identified as Dominic a resident of Lingarajpuram, and hailing from Tamil Nadu has reportedly escaped with the remaining Rs 92 lakh, almost of all of which are in new denomination notes.
The robbery took place on Wednesday afternoon when the vehicle from Logicash- a cash management service provider was parked in front of Bank of India (BOI) office.
While two officials - Shivkumar and Saleem went inside BOI Bangalore main branch, a security guard - Chamanlal and Dominic stayed in the vehicle.
Chamanlal later informed Dominic that he was going to attend a nature’s call. Making use of the opportunity, Dominic allegedly drove away from the vehicle.
According to police, Rs 1.37 crore was inside the vehicle during the incident. Four special teams were formed to nab the accused.
