Bengaluru college professor suspended for alleged sexual harassment

A student had recently alleged that the professor had sexually assaulted her after a college fest held on the college premises.

BENGALURU: The State Department of Collegiate Education suspended Begur Ramalingappa, a professor at Maharani Women's College in city as he was facing allegations of sexual harassment.

Begur Ramalingappa was suspended on the basis of an internal inquiry conducted by internal complaints committee, said commissioner of collegiate education Ajay Nagabhushan.
 
A student had recently alleged that the professor had sexually assaulted her after a college fest held on the college premises. 
 
Meanwhile, another professor has also been suspended for ‘falsely’ giving out information on the issue in the campus.
