BENGALURU:  The High Court has directed a trial court in the city to hear the counsels of writers Chetan Prakash Bhagat and Anvita Bajpai with regard to a plagiarism case on May 8 and pass orders in accordance with law.

Justice Ravi Malimath passed this order on Wednesday while disposing an appeal filed by Bhagat and New Delhi-based Rupa Publications. They had approached the High Court against an interim injunction order passed by a sessions court restraining them from selling the book ‘One Indian Girl’.

The counsel representing Bhagat argued that the trial court was yet to consider their appeal against the ex-parte order. The counsel appearing for Anvita said he was willing to defend the interim order if the same was considered by the trial court.
