BENGALURU: Close on the heels of the near-collision of two IndiGo aircraft early this week, it has now come to light that another IndiGo flight heading from Bengaluru to New Delhi on Thursday developed a ‘glitch’ mid-air and had to be rerouted to Indore. It has also emerged that there was a fuel overflow on a stationary IndiGo aircraft at the Bengaluru airport on Friday.
According to a passenger on board the flight, even four hours after they were taken to the Indore airport, IndiGo did not give them any information about their onward trip to New Delhi. The New Indian Express received this confirmation from airlines: “An IndiGo flight 6E-2246 operating Bangalore-Delhi route faced a technical glitch on July 12 after which the aircraft was diverted to Indore. Alternatively, a ferry flight was arranged to minimise any possible inconvenience to the passengers and further fly them to Delhi from Indore.”
Meanwhile, a video recording put up on Friday (July 13) by @AlokSingh16 on Twitter referred to a fuel overflow occuring on an IndiGo flight. IndiGo responded thus: “Hi, Mr Singh! Yes, you’re right! During the refueling process, a small amount of fuel had overflown from the aircraft tank vent. Nothing to worry, all safety measures were immediately taken. Thank you!”When asked for an official response to the fuel leak, Indigo told TNIE that they will get back.
