BENGALURU: Family of techie, Kumar Ajitabh who went missing on December last year, started an online campaign on Twitter called #JusticeForAjitabh. The hashtag was one of the trendingtopics on Sunday.

Several users tweeted asking the authorities to transfer the case to the CBI since there has been no progress in the investigations by the CID. Milind Kumar who goes by the handle @kumarmilind tweeted, '#justiceforajitabh A man disappears with his car. 6+ months no trace. Least govt @PMOIndia @CMofKarnataka can do is to order a CBI enquiry and bring the culprits to book. We will not let govt sleep over it. It's Ajitabh today, it can be you or I tomorrow.'

Pragya S, sister of the techie, says, she doesn't have hopes from the court proceedings as it was a 'great disappointment' during the last hearing on July 5. All that the family gets to hear is the next date of the hearing with no progress in the investigation or whereabouts of her brother.

She says, "This online protest was to reach out to the concerned authorities to appeal for a CBI probe for Kumar Ajitabh's kidnapping case. It's been 217 days and there has been no progress. The CID has been investigating since February 26 after the High Court transferred the case to them. We have been cooperating with the police, SIT and CID for seven months. The case should be handed over to CBI without wasting a single day, if they really care for their safety of the citizens and not the pride of police department."

Kumar Ajitabh went missing on December 18, 2017 after he left the house that day to meet a prospective buyer of his car.
