IT was more of an interactive session when acting students of Alchemy, a professional school for acting and modeling, where Expresso got an opportunity to meet actor Charu Haasan.

From acting to trends in cinema, the veteran actor discussed a lot with the students, who enthusiastically listened to each and every word.

"All the words in the script are in the dictionary. But, finding the right combination is creativity," said Charu. He mentioned the benefits of reading books and pointed out how his brother, actor Kamal Haasan reads loads of books.

Charu spoke on acting, facial expressions, movement of muscles and body language. He said operators in movie halls can edit better than editors, as they see more number of films. "Learn other things in life besides acting," he pointed out, and explained how K Balachander was ahead of his times.

"I love the film Kalki. He was 20 years ahead of his time in 70s and 80s itself. I find a sort of similarity between C V Sridhar and Mani Rathnam," said Charu and spoke on being updated.

CEO and creative director of Alchemy Vijay Vishwanathan said, "We conduct such face to face interactions once in three months. 44 students of one-month acting course in our school received certificates from Charu Haasan. The actor also spoke on the importance of learning Tamil and reading its literature thoroughly."
