Understanding of God

God is affectionate and loving. He is omnipotent (all powerful), omnipresent (present everywhere) and omniscient (all knowing). I acknowledge God’s presence and seek his guidance. He is the potter and I am the clay. He is with me not only in successes but also in failures. I believe it is God who created the heaven and the earth. His spirit dwells in us.

Religious practices

I am a Christian and I make it a point to read a few chapters from The Bible every morning. It gives me strength to meet the vicissitudes of life. Prayer is the voice of faith. Daily prayer is a time for personal reflection. It is a time when I talk to God — when I thank him for all his blessings and cast all my cares and burdens on him. Sundays are a time for fellowship where we share each other’s needs and participate in social outreach programmes to reach out to the poor, sick, orphans and widows.

Spiritual beliefs

I believe that God created me in his image for a specific purpose. He is the Alpha and the Omega. By his grace and wisdom, I have written a work of fiction, The Iron Tooth. We must wait on God for meeting all our needs, for vision and direction. Firm faith and trust in God makes us overcome the trials of life. It helps build a strong character.

Pilgrimage sites

I do not like to visit any pilgrimage place, as it is my belief that God is omnipresent and I can talk to him anytime and anywhere. On a historical note, I would like to visit cathedrals and churches, but I do not give importance to pilgrimage spots.

Miracles

Yes, I firmly believe in miracles. Miracles happen out of love, compassion and mercy in the heart of Jesus. Nothing is impossible for the Almighty. In 2005, I remember a gruesome  accident. Two tendons in my right hand got torn. I was unable to lift the two injured fingers and was worried about how my right hand would be after the surgery. But after physiotherapy, I was able to do all my normal activities by God’s grace. To God be all the glory.
