CHENNAI: You love your pets, so do Sudhakar and Suresh. But what is unique about their love for pets, especially dogs, is that they thought of starting a business that will cater to their needs. They went the distance and launched Cho Chweet, a grooming studio for dogs, where a dog’s every need is taken care of— from grooming and colouring, to skin and dental care. It is this innovative business module that won Sudhakar and Suresh the Chinnikrishnan Innovation Award on Tuesday evening. “Unlike human beings, dogs do not have the patience to go through the grooming process. Unless you love dogs and understand their psychology, it would be difficult to provide these services. Our love for dogs has made our task easier,” said Sudhakar. The Cho Chweet team gave their bosses a standing ovation as they received their awards on stage. Equally innovative, was the business module of Saundarya Rajesh of Avtar Career Creators that offers flexi-career opportunities for women seeking work-life balance. She walked away with the second Chinnikrishnan Innovation Award. “We have created 2,500 flexi-job opportunities for women in our nine-year-old business and hope to create many more,” Saundarya said with a hint a pride in her tone.
The third award went to Sankameshwaran Ramaswami of Twiinkle Mops that manufactures non-woven fabric mops. “Our mops absorb five times more, are dust free and weigh less than regular mops,” explained Ramaswami. All the three winners said they were grateful to CavinKare, a diversified FMCG major, for honouring them at the award ceremony.
The Chinnikrishnan Innovation Awards were launched last September, in memory of Shri R Chinnikrishnan, who is credited as being the father of the sachet revolution. Besides honouring the winners with the awards, CavinKare will assist them in patenting their innovative products or services as well as offer marketing support and financial aids.
