CHENNAI: Over 800 persons, including two chain snatchers, were arrested by police during  a ‘storming operation’ on Saturday. Police said, of the 803 preventive arrests made during the operation, 95 persons were held under 109, 110 of CrPC, 19 were repeat offenders, 11 had arrest warrants against them, and 105 were booked for drunken driving. Further, Kanniappan, Sasi Kumar and Selvam were held for stealing diesel and furnace oil at Madhavaram.  As  per a release, 20,000 litres of diesel, 3,000 litres of furnace oil and `1.53 lakh in cash were seized.

`30 lakh Seized

Two Delhi-based businessmen, Aman Mehta and Naman Mehta, were found carrying unaccounted cash of `30 lakh at the airport on Sunday morning. They claimed that they were in to sale of gutka and pan masala and that they came to attend a wedding, sources said.
