The Department of Human Resource Management of D G Vaishnav College organised its annual HR conclave ‘TANTHRA’ on the theme ‘Recession & Resurgence’ on September 29.
The flagship conference of the department was held at the Hilton and was graced by eminent HR professionals such as Hema Ravichandar and Dr Aquil Busrai, who delivered the inaugural address and the key note address respectively.
In addition to this, some of the big names of the industry were also represented in the form of speakers and participating delegates.

(ADGP, Crime), Venkatanarayanan (RANE), Ragupathy (IFF) , Lakshmanan ( Reliance Industries Ltd.). Omprakash (Deloitte), Srithika (Cognizant).Rajesh Balaji (Barclay’s) and Krishnamurthy Subramaninan (Microsoft).
The entire conference was divided into two distinct panel discussions, the first session being on ‘Recession’, which revolved around the idea that dual cultures cannot co-exist during adversities and also on the importance of data sufficiency and the role of HR in talent management.
Special references were made to the aspect of how people associate brands with their organisation’s leader and how this aspect reflects on what the business wants from their HR.
The importance of being proactive and the necessity to forecast to determine future competencies that will aid employee retention, was also deliberated.
