The three-day annual float festival ‘Masi Thepporchavam’ began with  much fanfare at the ancient Sri Veera Raghava Perumal temple in Thiruvallur.

One of the 108 ‘Divya Desam’ temples, the float festivities began on Monday, the Masi Amavasya day. The specially decked up idol of Perumal was taken in a float in the sprawling temple tank while the devotees offered prayers.

The celebrations will be on till Wednesday. Various security arrangements have been made in connection with the festival in Thiruvallur.
