Prof Rajaram set to be new Anna University V-C

Anna University is likely to get its vice chancellor with the decks being cleared for the appointment of Prof Rajaram, a strong contender for the post.

According to official sources, the Governor, who is also chancellor of the university, has selected him from among the three names submitted by the search committee and the order to this effect is expected on Thursday. Prof Gowri, former Registrar of Anna University, whose name was on the search panel’s list, was a contender along with Rajaram, who is currently with the Government College of Technology, Coimbatore.

Earlier, he was the vice-chancellor of the Anna University of Technology, Tirunelveli, prior to its merger with the parent university.

Hailing from the mercantile Nadar community, he has three decades fo academic experience in electrical and electronics engineering.
