Bus Overturns on GST Road, Injures 25

CHENNAI: It was a close shave for over 60 passengers on an SETC bus when it overturned after hitting a car on the GST Road near Acharrapakkam village in Kancheepuram.

The bus was going to Tindivanam from Chennai when it  hit the car. This happened at 4 pm on Sunday. None  but the lone car driver was seriously injured.

“The driver might have lost control while speeding. The bus  stopped after hitting the car and the median,” said a police official.

As many as 14 men and 11 women who were injured in the accident were taken to the Kancheepuram GH.

According to police, the identity of the car driver could not be ascertained as he was unconscious. The police are trying to trace his family with a few phone numbers found in the car.
