DG Vaishnav Celebrates Golden Jubilee with Dance and Music

CHENNAI: As part of the golden jubilee celebrations of D G Vaishnav college,  Vaishnav Utsav, a confluence of music and dance was held on the college premises recently. The programme aimed at encouraging the artistic talent among students and help them create a conducive environment of performing arts inside the college.

The event began with a classical music performance by students Sathyanarayanan, Varun and Gomathishankar. The chief guests of the event were carnatic vocalist Neyveli Santhanagopalan and bharathanatyam dancer Vijay Madhavan. The evening concluded with dance performances comprising classical and Gujarati folk dance, besides the talented students from various departments coming together along with the college band ‘V Major’. 

Musician Vikku Vinayakram was present at the valedictory programme with his grandson Swaminathan, who is an alumnus of the college. Both enthralled the audience with their artistic brilliance.
