Nod to Exhume Two Bodies Buried in Govt Plot at Salem

CHENNAI: The Madras High Court directed the administration of Salem district to exhume the bodies of two persons belonging to the backward class community, which were buried on the cart path belonging to the government in Navalkurichi village in Salem district and bury them in the area earmarked for them.

Justice S Vaidyanathan gave the direction while allowing a writ plea from B B Vennila praying for a direction to exhume the bodies buried adjacent to his land. The authorities are at liberty to seek protection frAom police who shall assist the task and see that no law and order problem arises. They are also permitted to record the task by way of videograph. The said exercise shall be completed within a week, the judge said.
