VIT's Android Club takes a Crack at Getting into the Record Books

CHENNAI: A record attempt event – Android Amaze, a 24 hours hackathon which was kick started on March 21 at 10.30 am and ended on March 22 at 10.30 am - during which 1600 apps were created by the participants.

Android Amaze received 6000 registrations from across the globe including countries like USA, England, Holland, South Korea, Bangladesh and Morocco. Approximately 1400 developers took part in this hackathon both onsite and online. Despite of the time constraint, Android Amaze was successful in producing 160 fully functional applications.

Android Amaze broke into the Asia book of records, India book of records and Tamil Nadu book of records. Dr G Viswanathan, Chancellor of VIT University received the record declaration certificate  andSankar Viswanathan, VP, VIT University, Chennai were present.
