Sasikala’s nephew Mahadevan dies; leaders pay homage

CHENNAI: TV Mahadevan (47), a nephew of AIADMK (Amma) general secretary V K Sasikala, died on Saturday while on his way to Thiruvidaimarudur temple near Kumbakonam.  

While travelling in his car, he complained of chest pain. He was immediately taken to a private hospital at  Kumbakonam, where he was declared ‘brought dead’.  Mahadevan is the son of Sasikala’s late brother Vinodhagan. 

The last rites will be conducted at Thanjavur tomorrow (Sunday). Mahadevan was the district secretary of Jayalalithaa Peravai many years ago. He was one among those who was expelled from AIADMK in 2011 along with Sasikala. AIADMK (Amma) deputy general secretary T T V Dhinakaran paid homage to the mortal remains of Mahadevan at Thanjavur. State ministers and many senior functionaries of the party also paid their respects.
