Efforts on to bring normalcy back in Chennai post oil spill: Fisheries Minister

CHENNAI: Fisheries Minister D Jayakumar on Tuesday assured that steps were being taken to remove the oil spill along the coastline and expressed confidence that normalcy would be restored very soon.

He also promised to provide relief assistance for 10 days to fishermen affected by the oil spill following the collision of two ships at the Kamarajar port, Ennore.

Leader of Opposition, M K Stalin said marine resources in the sea were affected by the oil spill.
