Dense fog delays flights at Delhi's IGI airport

It has been seen in the last couples of weeks that the trains and flight services either being delayed or being rescheduled for next day.

NEW DELHI: At least 13 flights were delayed on Tuesday morning as dense fog reduced the visibility considerably around Delhi's IGI Airport.

Seven international and six domestic flights to and from Delhi were delayed while two domestic flights were cancelled, according to airport officials.

Moderate fog is expected over the next two days, according to the meteorological department.

An Air India official said that due to dense fog, the visibility has fallen drastically. The flight services in and outborn Delhi are affected. Flights are holding up in different airport from 1 to 4 hours.

An Air India flight from Ahmedabad, scheduled to arrive at 7:20 am got delayed by three hours while another flight, coming from Pune, was delayed for over five hours. Many passengers at the airport were stranded for over three to four hours.

According to the weather department, visibility improved up to 500 meters by 10 am.
