NEW DELHI: A security lapse led to burglary at the headquarters of the ruling party in the national capital in Delhi early Saturday morning, the suspect has been arrested by the police.
According to the police, based on the CCTV cameras fitted at the Aam Aadmi Party office at 206, Rouse Avenue in central Delhi, 58-year-old Mohd Qazim was nabbed from a nearby local market, along with the items he took.
The party gave a written complaint to the respective police station and submitted the CCTV footage of the incident, in which the person is seen piling bags on a cycle rickshaw and trying to break into iron grill fitted near the main room of the office. As per the complaint around 25 steal canopies, with party name and logo printed on them went missing, which were later recovered.
As the face of the person was not visible in the CCTV around five to six people were rounded up by the police, a scrap dealer, was also arrested for buying the canopies sold to him by Qazim.
