Bomb threats sent to three Delhi schools trigger searches, later declared hoax

Three private schools and four district courts, including Dwarka and Rohini, were evacuated after alleged explosive warnings; bomb disposal squads found nothing suspicious and probe is underway

NEW DELHI: Three private schools in the capital received bomb threats on Thursday morning, prompting a coordinated search operation before officials confirmed the alerts were hoaxes.

The schools are located in Chanakyapuri, Barakhamba and Hauz Khas, officials said. After receiving the information, teams were immediately dispatched, and search operations were conducted. The bomb disposal squad, dog squad and fire department also reached the spots. Nothing suspicious was found on any of the premises, and the threats were later declared hoaxes, official added.

According to the fire department, information was received regarding alleged explosives at CRPF schools in Rohini and Dwarka. “Calls were also received about bombs at four district courts — Dwarka, Rohini, Saket and Patiala House. Fire tenders were rushed to the sites immediately to assist with security checks,” a fire department official said.

Police said an email warning of explosives planted on court premises was received early in the morning. Following the alert, the bomb disposal squad and multiple security teams were deployed across all six locations, where extensive search operations were initiated.

Later, after detailed checks, nothing suspicious was found. Officials said the source of the email is being traced, and an investigation has been initiated.
