HYDERABAD: Three government officials, including two from Rangareddy district and another from Nizamabad, were today caught by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) while taking bribe in separate incidents.
In the first trap, the additional assistant engineer of AP Central Power Distribution Company Limited (operations) of Chevella mandal in Rangareddy district, N Jaipal, was caught today when he took Rs 15,000 bribe from a person from Malakpet, Syed Muzahid Irfan for doing an official favour.
Soon after trapping the additional assistant engineer, ACB sleuths conducted searches on his office and residence, an official release said.
Meanwhile, the mandal parishad development officer of Kulkacherla in Rangareddy district, D Pandarinath, was caught when he took Rs 5,000 from a person today at his office.
The MPDO took the amount from the person to issue a No Objection Certificate for the construction of a rice mill at Kusuma Samudram village, an official release said.
The village revenue officer (VRO) of Mallupally village in Biknur mandal, E Srinivas Reddy, was caught by the ACB officials at Gandhi Chowk at Biknur town today when he took Rs 5,000 from a person to issue `pahani' copies.
After receiving the bribe amount, the VRO handed it over to the village servant, Mallesham.
``The village servant, who incidentally came to the spot at that time, has no knowledge and role in taking the bribe,'' the release said.
All the three government officials, who were caught, would be arrested and
produced before a special court for ACB cases in Hyderabad.
