HYDERABAD: Numerous individuals are getting benefited during the ongoing Rachabanda programme across the State. A whopping 3.78 lakh temporary ration cards-cum-Aarogyasri cards, 1.11 lakh new pensions and 2.45 fresh pensions under the Abhayahastham programme were issued during the Rachabanda programme till yesterday.

Information and Public Relations Minister DK Aruna said the government was confident of surpassing its targets and providing the benefits of various welfare schemes to more beneficiaries before the programme ends on February 12.

Patta/posession certificates were issued to about 1.18 lakh beneficiaries under Indiramma Housing, while fresh job cards were issued to 1.49 lakh under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme.

Under Pavala Vaddi (Rural) scheme, Rs 229 crore was paid to 7.98 lakh self-help groups (SHGs) and another Rs 49.98 crore was paid to 1.03 lakh urban SHGs till date.

Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy participated in the Rachabanda programme and addressed public meetings at Mujjugudem in Nelakondapally mandal of Khammam district and at Wargal in Medak district today. He urged opposition parties not to politicise a noble programme like the Rachabanda.

He distributed assets to beneficiaries.

He will participate in the Rachabanda programmes in Karimnagar and Warangal districts tomorrow.

On the 15th day today, the Rachabanda programme was held at 1,470 places throughout the State, including 597 places in Telangana. It was interrupted at 96 places in the region. The programme was conducted smoothly in 602 places in Coastal Andhra and 271 places in Rayalaseema.

In all, Rachabanda was held at 22,584 places all over the State till date.
