HYDERABAD: As many as 33 surrounding gram panchayats (villages) will be merged with the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC). And, Rangareddy district will have seven more new municipalities.
These decisions were taken at an official meeting held by home minister P Sabita Indra Reddy on Monday. Announcing the decision, she wanted officials to prepare proposals to enable the government to proceed further.
The villages to be merged in RR district are: Ibrahimp a tnam, Khana p u r , Sheriguda and Uppariguda; Medchal, Atwelli and Gowdavalli; Boduppal, Peerzadiguda, Medipalli, Parvatapur and Chengicherla; Jawahar Nagar; Badangpet, Almasguda, Gurramguda, Nadergul and Kurmal Guda; Turkayamjal, Ragannaguda, Injapur and Kammaguda; Pedda Amberpet, Pasumamula and Kuntluru.
The villages to be merged with GHMC are: Shatamrai, Vutpalli, Tondupalli and Kotwalguda in Shamshabad mandal; Meerpet, Jalpalli, Jillelaguda, Kothapet, Pahadishariff, Venkatapur, Balapur and Mammidipalli in Saroornagar; Pragatinagar, Bachupalli, Nizampet, Kompalli, Dulapalli and Bahadurpalli in Quthbullpaur; Kuntlur, Kalvancha in Hayatnagar; Narsingi, Manchirevula, Kokapet, Gandipet, Vattinagulapalli, Neknampur, Puppalaguda, Khanapur, Manikonda, Kismatpur, Bandlaguda, Himayatsagar, Peeram Cheruvu and Hydershakota in Rajendranagar; and Nagaram, Dammaiguda and Rampalli in Keesara.
