A one-day research dialogue in Life Sciences was organised on Wednesday at the University of Hyderabad (UoH).

Jointly organised by the German Research Foundation and the UoH, the dialogue focused on global challenges, recent trends and perspectives of collaborative research.

Attended by Prof Alex Brakhage from the Leibniz Institute for Natural Product and Infection Biology, Prof M Ramanadham, dean, School of Life Sciences, and Prof Geeta k Vemuganti, dean, School of Medical Sciences, from UoH, the dialogue was an attempt at discussing the possibilities and the challenges at having a collaborative research project, including funding options.

Citing demographics like one in eight publications published by Indian scientists is in collaboration with German scientists and that about 5000 Indian students are currently being educated in Germany, this was an opportunity at making good on further collaborative efforts.
