Over 80 Toastmasters from various IT companies in the city attended the Hyderabad Toastmasters’ area-level contest on humorous speeches and evaluations, hosted by Virtusa Corporation, a global IT services company.
Syed Moazzam Daimi (Madhapur Toastmasters Club) and Sweta Mahapatra emerged as the winners of the Humorous Speech Contest and the Evaluation Speech Contest respectively. They will now compete at the Division level Toastmasters Club contest to be held in October, this year.
The area-level contest followed the club-level contests held at the Toastmasters’ clubs at TCS - Synergy Park, TCS - Waverock, Amazon and Madhapur TM Clubs. The judge’s panel comprised of three senior toastmasters: Chief Judge Harsh Singhal, Ajay Sankar Vyamajala and Rakesh Thalla.
The objective of a Toastmasters Club is to promote and improve public speaking and leadership skills of individuals in a non-threatening environment.
