Of the 56,18,295 voters in Greater Hyderabad, voters belonging to backward classes are 16,10,167, constituting 28.66 percent.

The figures were arrived after a door-to-door survey last month in the 150 wards of the GHMC. The survey was carried out on the orders of the state government. Of the 16,10,167 BC voters, 8,63,803 are men and 7,46,364 are women.

GHMC commissioner MT Krishna Babu told reporters here on Monday that the ward-wise draft electoral rolls will be published on June 11 with BC voters marked and displayed at the offices of GHMC commissioner and deputy commissioner (circles 1 to 18), and RDO and MDO.
