SVBC staffer among 12 held for gambling

The Task Force police had conducted a raid on a gambling den and arrested 12 persons including the assistant manager of SVBC TV channel and a TV serial artiste.

As many as 12 mobile phones and Rs 81,000 were seized from them.

According to police, they received information that some persons were playing three cards, a gambling game, at Indiranagar in Banjara Hills Road No. 2.

During enquiry, it came to light that Venkateswarulu, an assistant manager in SVBC TV Channel, committed the offence to meet his expenses.

About two months ago, he took the premises on rent for Rs 6,000 per month and organised a gaming house. 

The arrested persons along with seized material were handed over to the Banjara  Hills Police for necessary action.

Ch Venkateswarulu (29), an assistant manager in SVBC TV Channel, resident of Indiranagar, N Murali Prasad (37),  sales executive in Sumero Provision Foods at Kukatpally, G Jayaramreddy (40), a sand supplier, N Sreenu (37), a make-up man in TV serials, S Satish (33), a food supplier, V Raju (34), a cine artiste, B Suresh, a wood supplier, A VV Pratap, production assistant in cine field, P Raju (34), a sand supplier, P Subba Raju, a production assistant in cine field, Ch Narshima Murthy, mechanic at Sri Krishna Nagar, and Prasad, a caterer, were apprehended.
