First-timer Gets Energy Boost

HYDERABAD:  Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Tuesday divested some of the key portfolios which he kept with himself in the last six months and handed over the key energy department to a first-timer, who was sworn in along with five others as ministers here on Tuesday.

Nayani Narasimha Reddy retained home despite reports that he would be divested of the portfolio. Doctor-turned-politician C Laxma Reddy from Mahbubnagar was made the energy minister. Tummala Nageswara Rao, who had the experience of handling R&B and excise ministries earlier, was given the R&B portfolio along with women and child development. Talasani Srinivas Yadav, who made a big fanfare by bringing his followers which led to massive traffic jams, was given cinematography and commercial taxes department. A Indrakaran Reddy was given housing, law and endowments. KCR gave ST development to tribal leader Ajmera Chandulal.
