It is time to head back to Duckburg, the fictional city where Scrooge McDuck a.k.a Uncle Scrooge and his three nephews reside and mesmerise people with their adventure tricks. The series is all-set to make a come back in 2017. Excited? Who would n’t be.

“The Emmy Award-winning series from the late ‘80s and early ‘90s is absolutely treasured by our generation, and we are so excited that “every day they’re out there making DuckTales” again,” said the Disney Blog ‘Oh My Disney’. The series and the re-runs that entertained both young and old will bring that same energy and adventurous spirit to a new generation, the officials assure.

And cartoon freaks in the city cannot wait for 2017. “Wow! Smiling from ear to ear on knowing that DuckTales is going to revisit us,” says Pooja Krishnan, an executive at Dr Reddy’s Foundation.

Recalling her childhood days she says, “I still remember the way I used to watch all the episodes ardently after my school. The lessons Scrooge Mc Duck, used to teach his grandnephews also in turn enlightened us. I am looking for more such lessons and also adventures and mysteries that it will bring.”

She is sure that the relaunch will be successful as for the simple lessons of life that the series taught her. “Loyal fans  will definitely love its comeback, along with the new generation,” adds Pooja.

Agreeing with her, Rohit Rajarapu a corporate employee, says, “The adventure and treasure hunt elements in the series can attract anyone. As Disney is promising that these will be kept alive, new comers will also enjoy it.”

Rohit who has watched the series in English, Hindi and Telugu also got nostalgic hearing the news. “I used to watch the series after returning from school with my mom and siblings. I am happy that I will be able to relive those days. I also always wished to swim in money just like Uncle Scrooge,” he grins.

While Pooja is looking forward to learn more lessons from the new series, Rohit wants to enjoy the adventure ride that the previous series would take him through yet again.

Pradeep Bandari, Admin Manager, Lakhotia Institute of Design who is desperately waiting for the new series says, “As soon as I would return from school, I would run to my room to watch DuckTales at 6 pm in Disney Hour. My brother and me would hum along with the theme song,” he blushes excitedly.

Uncle Scrooge was his hero, especially when he dives into the piles of gold coins.

He points out that cartoons made in those days were different from the ones made today. He is also scared that the 3D animation when compared to the 2D animation, that was used back then might make the series lose its originality. “But for me DuckTales would always be the ones made in my childhood where I enjoyed ducks and ducklings talking wearing clothes!” he explains.

Twinkle Dundoo, employee at IBM also loved the theme song is looking forward to the new techniques, new stories and new adventures the series will come with. She is also hoping that it won’t differ a lot from the past episodes. “The  character I can relate to is that of Webby. My friends used to call me Webby,” she recalls.
