Baptism of Fire: Several Political Heirs in Fray

HYDERABAD: About a dozen senior leaders of different political parties, ministers, MPs and MLAs have launched their family members into politics and made them contest the GHMC elections. Home minister Nayani Narsimha Reddy’s son-in-law V.Srinivas Reddy,a trade unionist,    contested from Ramnagar in Musheerabad.

Among other senior politicians who wanted to pass on the mantle to their family members include Rajya Sabha member and senior TRS leader K Keshava Rao whose daughter Vijaya Lakshmi joined the TRS a few months ago. She contested from Banjara Hills.

Cantonment MLA G.Sayanna, who joined the TRS a few months ago, has fielded his daughter G.Lasya Nandini in a ward in the Secunderabad circle. Malkajgiri MLA Kanaka Reddy’s daughter-in-law contested from Alwal and former MLA P Janardhan Reddy’s daughter Neeraja Reddy  from Venkateshwara Nagar which is part of the Khairatabad Assembly constituency. TRS MLA and former mayor Teegala Krishna Reddy’s daughter-in-law and his brother’s son too contested the polls.

MLA Prakash Goud’s brother and TRS leader Jagdish Goud and his wife Pujitha Goud  both contested from different wards and so did MBT leader Amjadullah Khan and his wife. MLA Muthireddy Yadagir Reddy’s wife  was also in the fray.

Congress leader and former minister Mukesh Goud’s son Vikram Goud contested from Jambagh and his daughter was also a contestant. Former MIM corporator Mohd Ghouse’s wife and son both contested the polls. Former BJP MP Ale Narendra’s wife Lalitha also contested from Gowlipura.
