Dengue fever victims assured help by Health Minister

HYDERABAD: With no let up in the number of dengue cases in Bonakal mandal of Khammam district and Opposition upping its ante, the State government, finally, woke up to the seriousness of the situation and initiated to take take steps to treat and prevent spread of the disease.

On Monday, one more person who was suffering from dengue died in Bonakal. With high number of cases creating panic among locals, state government has decided to send special team of doctors to effected villages and conduct tests on all in the effected areas.

Health minister Dr C Laxma Reddy, who held a review of situation in Bonakal, said all the necessary equipment to treat patients and conduct tests will be sent along with the team of doctors.

Till Sunday, samples collected from suspected patients were sent to Khammam district hospital for confirming whethey they had Dengue. With test kits sent to the affected areas of Ravinuthala, tests can be conducted immediately, SP of Fever Hospital said.
