HYDERABAD: A local man and a Nigerian-national were arrested here on Sunday for peddling cocaine in city. Police seized 180 gm of cocaine, four mobile phones containing contacts of customers and a bike.

Acting on a tip-off, sleuths of task force swung into action and apprehended peddlers at Madhura Nagar Park in Yousufguda when they were waiting for a customer to deliver cocaine.

Ogugua John Basco (37), who came to India on a business visa and moves around as a textile businessman in Mumbai, is the prime accused.

During his illegal business, Basco came in contact with Mohammed Jaharullah alias Sanni (33), a native of Kakinda in AP who lives in Yousufguda here.

“Basco, a habitual cocaine consumer, has contact with a lot of drug dealers in Mumbai who deliver drugs to Hyderabad and other metropolitan cities through couriers like Jaharullah,” said task force DCP B Limba Reddy.

They were handed over to SR Nagar police for further action. Investigation is on to extract information about other peddlers and consumers in city, he said.
