Traffic constable assaulted by lorry driver

An FIR was lodged against a lorry driver for allegedly assaulting a traffic constable over a petty issue within KR Puram Police Station limits here on Tuesday.

BENGALURU: An FIR was lodged against a lorry driver for allegedly assaulting a traffic constable over a petty issue within KR Puram Police Station limits here on Tuesday. According to police sources, Sreenivas (35) was transporting sand in a lorry, which arrived at Bhattarahalli traffic signal around 9am on Tuesday. The lorry stopped behind traffic as the signal was red, but the driver still sounded his horn continuously at the static traffic ahead of him. 

When the constable questioned Sreenivas, the driver pushed and assaulted him. Other traffic police officials reached the spot, secured Sreenivas and handed him over to the KR Puram law & order police station.
