HYDERABAD: A warder at Cherlapally central prison allegedly asked permission with the prison officials to commit suicide. Bukya Raja Naik, a warder at the prison, levelled allegations against the deputy superintendent for being partial and derogatory towards his caste due to his social background.

“We received his complaint that he is unhappy with the way deputy superintendent addressed his caste. We have counselled him and an internal inquiry has been initiated on the warder and the official,” said A Narasimha, IGP, Prisons.

“The warder has already lodged an SC/ST atrocities complaint against his superior and amidst that this happened. We will weigh the merits of the complaint and act,” he said.  It is also learnt that warder was unhappy with his transfer to Khammam.
