HYDERABAD: The six-day-old baby, who was abducted by a woman from Government Maternity Hospital in Sultan Bazar on Monday morning, was found abandoned at a government hospital in Bidar, Karnataka on Tuesday.

The baby is in good health and the kidnapper is reportedly in police custody. On Monday morning, an unidentified woman approached a new mother Vijaya at the hospital on the pretext of getting the baby vaccinated, and abducted her.

The woman, according to police, headed to MGBS and took a bus to Bidar.  The images of the woman walking away with the baby at MGBS were captured in the CCTV cameras.  East Zone DCP M Ramesh said they checked with the bus driver and conductor.  “We got to know that the woman got down at Bidar at 4.30 p.m. but later she fled from the place,” he said.
