HYDERABAD: The recent rains have created a fear in the traders at Rythu Bazar in Alwal in Secunderabad as the market’s temporary sheds might come crumbling down anytime. The dilapidated sheds need to be replaced with a modern concrete building which farmers and traders have been demanding. Traders allege that officials informed them that fund was sanctioned for construction, but no work has begun till the date.
A Bhagyamma, a vendor at the market said, “Not all of us have permanent sheds. Moreover, the space is insufficient and the place is dirty.” Now, the seasonal rains are adding to their woes.
KR Sai Kumar, estate officer of Rythu Bazar, said ,“We had sent a proposal to the government for constructing a modern Rythu Bazar building. The R&B department plans to widen the road beside the Rythu Bazar stands and unless the process of road cutting is completed, we will not have clarity about the space for the new building.”
