HYDERABAD: A couple who allegedly died by suicide in Habsiguda is suspected to have poisoned their children before taking their own lives. The deceased were identified as Chandrashekar Reddy (44) and his wife Kavitha (35), while their children, Shritha Reddy (13) and Vishwanath Reddy (10), were also found dead under suspicious circumstances.

According to investigators, the couple may have given poison to their children before ending their lives. Osmania University ACP G Jagan told TNIE that the girl had strangulation marks on her neck, while the boy was found frothing at the mouth.

“We suspect the parents poisoned the children before killing themselves. However, we have not yet received the postmortem examination report. Only after that can we confirm the exact cause of death,” he said.

Kavitha’s father revealed that their family had provided them with Rs 4 lakh a few days ago. “If they had shared their problems with us, we would have tried to help. We never imagined they would take such an extreme step,” he said.
